June Knoxville Festivals: Big Asses, SoKno Pride, Rhinestone Fest, Brewfest & More

With the arrival of June, we'll be halfway through the year! Was it too fast? Too slow?


Either way, check out these festivals with live music and other stuff happening during June in Knoxville.


We'll continue to update this article throughout the month as new information and events are announced.




Rhinestone Fest

June 6-7 (Friday & Saturday)


The 5th edition of the Dolly Parton inspired Rhinestone Fest, presented by the Historic Old City Association, takes place in Knoxville's Old City over Friday June 6 and Saturday June 7.


Expect lots of rhinestones, Dolly wigs, music, Dolly-themed vendors, and more.

Knox Pop Con

June 7 (Saturday)


Knox Pop Con is a celebration of Asian pop music at Creekside, featuring dance classes, live performances and more.

Jamfest

June 7 (Saturday)


The 6th annual Jamfest at Ijams Nature Center features music from local bands and more. Tickets are $15 for adults and kids 10 & under are free.



Connecting Knox Community Festival

June 8 (Sunday)


Connecting Knox Community Festival focuses on celebrating local nonprofits, clubs, artists, and small businesses with booths, music, and more.


The event, which runs from 1PM-5PM at Ancient Lore Village (the Hobbit place behind the Wal-Mart in South Knoxville), also celebrates the launch of the Connecting Knox App, an iPhone and Android app that shows events and stuff. (I guess they're technically a competitor to us but who cares, life is short)



MLK JR Juneteenth Parade & Celebration

June 19 (Thursday)


The annual Juneteenth Parade & Celebration, presented by the MLK Commemorative Commission, will take place at Dr. Walter Hardy Park, with the parade and march starting at Chilhowee Park.


The event features music, dancing, food, vendors and a whole lot more.


The Parade line up begins at 8:30AM in Chilhowee Park and leaves at 10AM.

Big Asses Fest

June 21(Saturday)


Big Asses is a one day music festival featuring a wide variety of music and takes place at The Birdhouse in 4th & Gill from 12PM to 12AM for the low price of $5.

SoKno Pride

June 21 (Saturday)


SoKno Pride is a pride festival that takes place every year in the Old Sevier District along Sevier Ave in South Knoville, just over the river from Downtown.


The event features tons of vendors and live performances at multiple locations, including Alliance, Red Bud Kitchen, Hi-Wire, and more.


The schedule has not been released as of this writing, but we'll get it on here when it's out.


Make Music Knoxville

June 21


Make Music is a worldwide celebration of music, with performances hosted at the same time all over the world, and Knoxville is no exception.


From 10AM to 2PM, live music will be featured at venues all over Downtown, and below you can find the schedule.



Knoxville Brewfest

June 21


Knoxville Brewfest is the yearly celebration of drinking lots of beer out of little cups, but there's also live music and stuff, which has not been announced yet, and the event benefits Cure Duchenne.


To aid in shrinking the lines and alleviating other problems, the festival is split up into two sessions, each three hours long, from 1PM-4PM and 6PM-9PM.


Tickets are $60 and designated driver tickets are available for $30.




Free Market Square Shows


Outside of the festivals, the City of Knoxville is hosting some fun free shows on Market Square throughout the month. Learn more here!
